Administration

Portrait of Principal

Christina Serola, Principal

Hello, I am excited to be the principal at Harrowgate Elementary School and in our brand new building! I love working with the Harrowgate students and families! I am originally from Miami, Florida and moved to Colorado after my family lost our house in Hurricane Andrew. I graduated from Regis University in Colorado Springs and received my masters from University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I was fortunate enough to teach in the elementary setting for 8 years before starting my adventure in administration. I was able to spend a year teaching in Genoa, Italy at an International Baccalaureate school, which was a once in a lifetime experience. I enjoy traveling, being with family and friends, and spending time with my rescue dog, Stella!

Brian Conlon, Assistant Principal

I am delighted to serve the Harrowgate Elementary School community as your assistant principal. I am honored to be returning to a community known for its commitment to excellence and I look forward to creating partnerships with our students, families, and staff.

My wife and I live in Chesterfield County and are proud parents of two children, both of whom are students in Chesterfield County Public Schools. As both an educator and a parent, I am fiercely supportive of our school system and do whatever I can to create learning environments in which all students can learn and grow. This means establishing an environment that not only meets the needs of its diverse community, but truly values differing perspectives and life experiences.

My career in education began in 2003 and most of my time in education has been in Chesterfield County Public Schools. I have also served as an assistant principal for Caroline County Middle School. My experience includes a variety of educational settings and disciplines – from elementary and middle school administration to teaching middle school and high school science and special education, to coaching for middle school and high school boys and girls sports.

I received a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Richmond. Since becoming an educator, I have also participated in many rewarding and productive learning opportunities that focus on behavior management, equity, and school culture.

I am humbled by the warm welcome and I look forward to exciting times ahead. In the meantime, my door is always open.

Respectfully,
Brian P. Conlon
